Haitian-American soprano Ardeen Pierre, from Houston, TX, covers the role of Berta in Santa Fe Opera’s production of Il barbiere di Siviglia and performs in Carmen and M. Butterfly. Pierre is a recent Santa Fe Opera Apprentice and Baumgartner Studio Artist with The Florentine Opera Company. Recent roles include Countess Ceprano Rigoletto, Mimì La bohème (Cover), and Maguelonne in Viardot’s Cendrillon. Ms. Pierre was a St. Louis District winner of the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition, and recently won second place in the George Shirley Vocal Competition.
